International Women's Day

Here at ready dress go, everyday is about honoring women and their impressive accomplishments while also empowering them to continue making an impact on the world around them. With International Women’s Day this past week, we are even more so focused on uplifting women and acknowledging their achievements! And what better way to celebrate accomplished women than highlighting a few of our favorite female founders in different areas of entrepreneurship. These women inspire us everyday and we hope they inspire you too!

First and foremost, I want to feature the female entrepreneur who is seeing her vision come true more and more everyday: Megan Prange. She is the entrepreneur that has had the most direct impact on ready dress go as the founder of our manufacturing partner. A few years ago, Megan opened up Prange Apparel, a small-batch ethical manufacturing facility just a few minutes outside of Nashville! But, she always had a vision to expand her space and be able to provide development services to clients, as well. After a lot of hard work, obstacles and perseverance, Prange Apparel was able to expand this year — Jessica was even able to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony! We are really proud of Megan and everything she has accomplished as a female entrepreneur.

Another female entrepreneur that I’d love to highlight this International Women’s day is Bobbi Brown. I recently listened to the How I Built This episode where she is interviewed — and I’ve been thinking about her story ever since. Bobbi started off as a freelance makeup artist and later transitioned into working with a chemist to create her own line of makeup. She was trying to accomplish a completely different look than had ever been done: natural and wearable. And that is revolutionary. It didn’t take very long for her to be noticed and for her makeup to be sold in stores like Bergdorf Goodman’s. A few years later, she sold to Estée Lauder where they let her keep full autonomy of her brand. Her passion lied with the true creative and cosmetics side of the brand, rather than the business, so selling was the right option for her. I really admire how Bobbi made this decision and how, as a creative entrepreneur, she figured out how to balance her strengths and passions.

RDG celebrated IWD by hosting a very special giveaway… we had four female founded brands team up to put together this incredible gift: An RDG Everyday Tank in Royal Blue, two beautiful pieces of Strings for Hope Jewelry, Crystal L Jackson’s #Ready Candle, and Drink Nujo's Prebiotic Alternative Brew! More giveaways will be coming up soon, so you will have more opportunities to win RDG apparel if you missed out on this one!
